    Legal and Institutional Aspects of Integrated Flood Management. ASSOCIATED PROGRAMME ON FLOOD MANAGEMENT The Associated Programme on Flood Management (APFM) is a joint initiative of the World Meteorological Organization and the Global Water Partnership. It promotes the concept of Integrated Flood Management (IFM) as a new approach to flood. Integrated flood risk management (IFRM) encompasses a broad range of strategies that are rooted in the recognition that absolute protection from floods is impossible and that aim to reduce.

    Having completed his PhD in International Water Management, he teaches Administrative Law and Water Management at Erasmus University, Rotterdam (Department of Public Administration-Sociology (DPAS) and IHS). His research focuses on institutional, legal, and policy aspects of environmental, water, and flood management. For this purpose developments on institutional aspects of flood control are indicated and use is made of developments in river basin management in general.
